This year’s Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference (BCCC) spring conference took place at the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida on April 16 and 17, with over 2000 people attending the two day event.

Cannabis moguls were in attendance, deals were getting done, and tons of networking and learning were on tap. Panel discussions covered various topics and industry necessities, including:

  • Marijuana vs Hemp: What Stakeholders Need to Know About Hemp-Derived Products
  • Being Banking-Fit Is The Best Flex: What’s The Ideal ‘Exercise Routine’
  • Economic Indicators: Reading the Cannabis Market’s Pulse
  • Valuation Variances: Determining Worth in the Cannabis Space
  • Diversify And Conquer: Why Cannabis Companies Shouldn’t Plant All Their Buds in One Pot
  • Growth Capital in 2024: What Makes a Company Investable
  • Culture as Capital: Employee Engagement as the Catalyst for Growth In Cannabis Businesses
  • Emerging CPG Trends: The Road To Big-Box Retail
  • Reflecting on the World of Cannabis Branding

Social equity was a focus and plans to be going forward as Benzinga takes the Cannabis Capital Conference to other regions, partnering with BIPOCANN

One BCCC organizer said the conference strives “to put a spotlight on the conversation surrounding social equity via panel discussions with organizations who are combating inequality in the cannabis industry, individuals who have been adversely affected by the War on Drugs, and policymakers who are leading the charge on writing legislation to undo the impacts of prohibition.”

Women in cannabis were recognized and supported through a partnership between Benzinga and Women Grow: Invest in Her. The partnership allowed conference attendees to take part with waived sponsorship fees.

Harrison Bard, Custom Cones USA: “Being part of a panel that dived into the factors behind product success—whether it be innovation or consumer demand—was truly rewarding.”

Aubrey Amatelli, PayRio: “Benzinga is my favorite event in cannabis. It’s the perfect conference for a fast growing start-up, like PayRio, to meet potential customers, prospects, and partners. This event brings together key decision makers in the cannabis space with the intention to get business done! One of the most important factors in attending networking events is getting value on your investment, and this is the place to do just that.”

Lisa Altschuler Liberman, Lifted Lodging: “Being selected as a WomenGrow social equity scholarship winner at the 2024 Benzinga Capital Conference opened so many doors for Lifted Lodging. As a woman without deep pockets or capital connections, my participation in the conference introduced me to lenders, potential investors, media, and brands who want to partner with us. If you are a CEO or other C-level executive at a cannabis-related company – regardless of where you come from, or what your background is, this conference is the place to be.”
